Calling for clarity
I’m not sure how this “elections will save us” thing works.
The 2000 election was rigged. 2024 was rigged. Trump said before he even won that he wanted to make things so “we wouldn’t need to vote again” and several remarks about a third term and beyond. He hasn’t been even slightly subtle about it. He’s treating the White Supremacy House like a palace/brothel. Already there’s talk of ICE presence at polling locations. They want to federalise elections so they can find their own votes without having to deal with governors who might have free will.
That’s just covering their intentions. Assume we have midterms. Assume they’ll be free and fair somehow. Then what, we’re going to elect Democrats who have done absolutely nothing to resist fascism beyond speeches and sternly worded letters? They’re gonna do what, take control and wag some fingers? They’re already buckling like belts everywhere. Just enough of them (usually ones about to retire or who otherwise have no future) vote with Republicans to fuck us some more.
Explain to me how these yutzes are going to save us. Much as I’d like a third party - say, the Working Families Party - to swoop in and save us, we’d need a politically engaged populace for that. Left to their own devices, corporate America - where all the money is - is going to prop up their bought and paid for pony parties forever. It just so happens corporate America controls all the media third parties could use to advertise and promote. Political parties would be relying on podcasts and billboards to get the word out if they can’t bake sale their way into a billion or so cool ones. Shit, Democrats got a billion in 2024 and where did it go? To losing, even if you believe the election wasn’t rigged.
Explain to me how midterms will save us. Explain to me how voting blue no matter who will save us in 2028. Give me the groundwork for how we will wrest control of America back from big money with anything less than a revolution, because I am not seeing it when I cast the chicken bones. Again, this is assuming best case scenario that there even are elections, that they won’t be clownfucked, rigged, or outright ignored by the electoral college, and that everyone gets a unicorn that farts faerie dust and cancer cures. Democrats are not on the side of the working class, and anyone who is will be beat down by corporate media. Probably accused of eating the dogs and cats.
Don’t treat me like I’m five, but explain it to me, because I am noooot seeing it.
(On a personal note, our darling government clownfucked my disability stipend from 700 a month to 108, so I’m going to pop that little donation button and hope for the best.)
Points for using the word “yutz”. That’s the great thing about Yiddish. There’s always an apt word that sounds exactly like what it is. That said, I might have used the word “putz” which is far less benign.
I’d say throwing chicken bones is the problem. Try a voodoo doll to poke those chickenshits into doing their job.
